New from Yahoo News: "President Barack Obama on Wednesday imposed 0,000 caps on senior executive pay for the most distressed financial institutions receiving federal bailout money, saying Americans are upset with "executives being rewarded for failure."
Do you agree with this? Is it fair?
Before you answer too quickly, is it fair that Obama actually SUED Citibank to force them to make these risky loans, so in effect he is punishing people for the consequences of his own bad decisions.

It looks like some people have overlooked the incredible gall Obama has to punish execs for having big losses when he SUED their company to force them to make these bad loans in the first place!
Absolutely astounding: 11 answers and not one person has even touched on the core issue. Isn’t it reprehensible for Obama to force Citibank to make these risky loans, and then punish the execs when Citibank incurs losses?
Thanks to "leslie" and "davethen" for very good answers. Leslie, the word is "cite".
Another thank you to "????? ". But I’m perplexed why no one has commented on how hypocritical and galling it is that Obama is punishing people for doing what he forced them to do. It would be like if your doctor put you on a strict diet, and then had you committed to an asylum for people with anorexia.

How can the airline business get away with treating their customers so badly? The delays, the tons of junk fees, the lax maintenance issues, the awful ticket pricing systems, etc.
Many other businesses would go belly up if they treated their customers so badly. How can the airlines get away with treating those whose survival they depend on, so poorly.

I have two banks. In writing a check, I mistakenly grabbed the wrong check book and bounced a check (1st bad check in 14 years).
I immediately called the bank and spoke with a sales executive. He advised me to sign up for check protection so that this wouldn’t happen again. Nothing else was discussed, no papers signed, nothing sent to me in writing.
I thought this was a gratuity by the bank for being a loyal customer, so I said ok; I had no idea this was actually a line of credit with finance charges, interest, and my personal credit report accessed (which lowers your credit score).
I didn’t catch it on the first statement as I travel extensively, but I did catch it on the second statement. I called the bank. They refused to help me when I asked for a letter of deletion for the credit bureaus. I stated that there was no disclosure of any loan.
I took this up the chain of command. I feel that since there was no disclosure, this is illegal, and the bank refuses to help .
